The Picos de Europa National park is located in the North of Spain just inland from the Bay of Biscay. It spans three regions of Spain, Asturias, Cantabria and Castilla y León. The climate is very different from the rest of Spain; it is a lot cooler, so it is possible to climb in the Picos de Europa during the summer as well as later in the year.
